During troubling times, it can be hard to find a steady place to land. Our normal landscape is threatened and it’s easy to fall into anxiety, fear, loneliness, and depression, especially when living alone.
When worried, my heightened sense of anxiety rules my day, I long to go back to a past time when my life was trouble free, to be a child again with no responsibilities, to have someone else reassure me that all will be well. I spend a lot of time worrying how to navigate unseen dangers, being frightened, falling into the pit of victimhood and, last but not least, putting my life on hold as though I have an unlimited future to live into.
At some point I decided I couldn’t keep living that way; I don’t know how much time I have on Planet Earth so I made the decision to create a world where I have unlimited support, where I’m happy and life is bountiful. In reality I know the past is the past and I can never go back, yet going forward I’m creating a life that is interesting, fulfilling, and packed with adventure. Every day I wake to the blessing of a new day and I intend to live this gift of a day powerfully.
If I can be frightened of unseen fears, I decided that a world filled with another type of unseen could also be created, so I created a world inhabited by personal angels, and not just any angel, specifically my personal Guardian Angel.
I’ve written the following to share with you, what I write about has helped me live a happier, more fulfilling, stress free life. I can only hope that my sharing touches and helps you too.

I’ve never considered myself particularly religious yet I do believe in the power of prayer; I particularly like praying to, or having conversations with, my Guardian Angel. In my busy, often stress filled day, I find it comforting to believe I have someone who has my back, someone who listens and guides me. Growing up in the Catholic faith, the most common Guardian Angel prayer was simple and easy to learn, I remember it fondly:
Angel of God,
My guardian dear,
To whom God’s love
Commits me here.
Ever this day (night if saying at bed time)
Be at my side,
To light and guard,
To rule and guide.
Welcome
This prayer lets me know that God himself has assigned my Guardian Angel to me, I love this and choose to believe it quite literally. Imagining my Guardian Angel with me at all times, I’m comforted and never lonely; I always have someone to talk with!
